I will discuss a theorem stating that a C^1-diffeomorphism of a closed surface cannot permute a dense collection of domains with bounded geometry. This strengthens a result by F. Kwakkel and V. Markovic who proved that if a C^{1+\alpha}-diffeomorphism of a closed surface permutes a dense collection of domains with bounded geometry, then it has zero topological entropy.
