Analysis & Applied Math
by David Ouyang (LMU Munich)
In this talk, I will discuss the derivation of the macroscopic Ginzburg–Landau (GL) equation for superconductivity from the microscopic Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer theory (1972 Nobel prize in physics). Our analysis relies on a Lyapunov–Schmidt type reduction, and semiclassical estimates at low regularity. This talk is based the recent joint work with R. L. Frank and C. Hainzl.
