This is a talk in the Working Group on Big Data Methods in Imaging. Classical PDE approaches to the problems of image denoising and image inpainting have been generalized to the nonlocal patched based setting. In this introductory talk, I will discuss these methods and present an inpainting algorithm based on diffusion maps.
