Inspired by Aaron Fenyes' talk from April 7, we present another application of the Perron-Frobenius theorem. Given an irreducible Markov chain with hole on a finite state space, we examine which choice of the hole maximizes longevity of the chain. This question was studied by Yuri Bakhtin and Leonid Bunimovich.

The Postdocs Seminar is a series of informal talks by Postdoctoral fellows. The aim is to learn some basics about each others research areas and to get into contact.
